MEET OUR PASTOR  McKinney

Five years ago, Hammond Avenue Brethren Church, 1604 Hammond Ave.,  welcomed pastor, Rev. Larry McKinney, and his wife, Linda.

Before becoming a full-time pastor, Rev. McKinney served for 30 years on the Waterloo Fire Rescue, served as chaplain for the fire department for 16 years and chaplain for the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s office for 4 years, ministering to both county employees and inmates. He has also served as co-chair for Citizens Organized Against Disasters.

He received his pastoral license from Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association.

I am proud and honored to be the pastor and fellow worker for the Lord along side such a loving family of God.  Our church takes pride in being united as a body and united in Spirit.  Linda and I have been very blessed by the church family’s love and acceptance.  We have seen the church body grow in spirit, unity, strength and in numbers; for which we thank our Lord.  We are very thankful for our church and our church family.  We have seen many miracles because we are united by the same God.  God has blessed our church beyond what we can ask or think.  We are grateful and looking forward and praying for a bright future for our chucrh; that it will be a light house for our community.

We want to run the race and hear those words from God saying: “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

If you are alone and without a church home that will make you feel at home and loved, come visit us.  YOU are welcome at any time just as you are!  God Bless!
